Safeguarding
IVGO's approach to the safety and welfare of everyone who participates in or attends our activities.
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, call 999. NSPCC Helpline: 0808 800 5000 (free, 24/7).
Membership and Participation
IVGO is an adult organisation. All performing members, volunteers, and committee members are 18 or over. We do not accept members or regular participants under the age of 18.
Under-18s are welcome to attend our public concerts accompanied by a parent or guardian. Unaccompanied attendance by under-18s is not permitted at any IVGO event.
At Our Concerts
As a concert-presenting organisation, IVGO may have children and young people in the audience at some events, particularly Start Quest, our family matinee. At all IVGO events:
- Under-18s must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult at all times
- Any welfare concern about a young person should be raised immediately with venue staff or IVGO committee members present on the night
- Venue safeguarding procedures apply. All our venues maintain their own child protection policies
Photography and Filming
IVGO photographs and films our events for promotional and archive use. We do not knowingly publish images of under-18s without explicit parental consent. If you believe an image of your child has been published without consent, contact us at hello@ivgorchestra.com and we will remove it promptly.
Concerns and Contacts
Any safeguarding concern at an IVGO event should be raised with a committee member on site, or with the venue's duty manager. For non-urgent concerns after an event, contact us at hello@ivgorchestra.com.
Serious concerns should always be reported directly to the statutory authorities. IVGO does not investigate child protection matters.
